MemberI am a newbie and I am not super computer savvy… sorry in advance.
I use both Yahoo and MSN for IM. On Yahoo, I can simply leave my webcam running. If someone contacts me, he/she gets video. On MSN, the other person has to ask or I have to offer to view my webcam. Is there a way to let the webcam just run on MSN, and if someone IM’s, he/she can see without having to ask?
(I know I can [edit – cannot run!] run cam on both IM’s at once.)
Thank you!

MemberHi, On msn, you must send or accept them to view your cam. Also On yahoo. its the same thing,i’ve never seen where just anyone can view your cam without permission. And running a cam on both yahoo and msn? Thats a new one on me, its never allowed me to do that before, what messenger builds do you have and what cam? ~TB~

MemberLOL ok Tim, on yahoo, you must have it set “allow anyone to view my cam” Thats scary for me LOL No MSN doesnt have that option, unless theres a patch floating around somewhere, Good luck ~TB~

You are wrong, you are able to let people view you cam without asking for permission in yahoo, as he said. The fact that you never saw it doesn’t mean it is not possible.
About msn, I believe there is no way of allowing someone to see your cam without granting explicit permission.

Memberhey guys…
did any of you remember this particular feature in message Plus! ???
Auto-accept
[*] The Auto-Accept feature allows you to accept every request you receive automatically, including file transfers, webcam and games.
[*] It can be turned on and off for every contact on your list. This can be customized in the Preferences panel, in the Instant Message section, into the General Options section.
[*] It can also be turned on or off in a conversation window, in the Plus! menu. This might become handy sooner or later;)

MemberIn the Plus! menu of chat windows, you have the option to Auto-accept requests (any kind of requests, including web cam). Also, note that version 3.10 will offer the option to auto-accept only webcam requests and not file transfers.
