MemberI have several screen names, some linked some not.. but using ones unlinked, some show up as unconfirmed internet, and the ones that I unlinked show as internet. So both screen names being unlinked, both show different, why is this?

MemberI’m trying to better understand the situation. Do linked screen names that show internet/unconfirmed change their status when you sign on to AIM with that single screen name?

MemberI have main screen names; one, two, three.. are always linked and all show “internet” status. I unlinked them and it still each seperate shows “internet” status.
I have screen names; four, five, six, seven and on and on, basicly every other screen name besides those 3, signed on singlely shows “unconfirmed”
When I link 2 out of the “four, five, six, seven and on and on” the MAIN one shows “unconfirmed” and the LINKED one shows “internet”, which is how I see everyone elses
My question is, why do my “one, two, three” show up as “internet” and not “unconfirmed”, seperatly or not.

MemberGotcha, so the status of them, be it internet or unconfirmed, does not ever change? I thought maybe they were changing.
There isn’t any operational difference between the two that anybody knows of. If you click on your buddylist on My AIM>Edit Options>Confirm account and that’s how you go about getting the status to display “internet”. You can’t switch it back to unconfirmed once it’s internet. If you have someone signed on using AOL (not AIM) software, you’ll see their status as “AOL”.

MemberIt could be confirmed if it was once an AOL account and AOL was cancelled, but the AIM screen name remained. I can’t remember if that’s the case or not, because they haven’t allowed that for a few years. If it was created more recently, it might be auto-confirmed with the accompanying @aim.com email address.
In the past, “confirming” was the only way to change the status, as far as I know.
