i was in a game room lobby in yahoo and i clicked on this girls fav link in her profile..now everytime i start up my pc this web page comes back and the icon comes back..ive done everything..ive been trying over a week to get rid with all kinds of ideas fom people..nothing works..ive trued add remove program..deleting from sourse..getting rid of history and icon over and over.everytime i reboot its back..back in add and remove programs too and in c files..also the icon comes back..its an ad for phone sex but i thought it was a greeting card site..gees if my mom sees that im dead.helpppppp..hope you guys can help..i wont do that again but thats how i found bigblueball by someones fav link on profile..thats the first time i seen that..honest..i didnt want that..:(
1: Get the url of the page then open regedit and enter the URL into the find area, if there is a registry entry it can be deleted.
Or
2: delete all cookies, reboot, check there are no cookies before using the browser or delete cookies again and reboot.3: search Google for ‘browser hijacking’.
4: Check your browser start page…
This is not a self executing file… a rogue instruction has been placed onto your computer to load this page at start-up.
(PS: If you don’t know how to open regedit, go Start > Run and then type regedit.) Then once regedit is open, go Edit > Find.
It might just be easier to get Ad-Aware – it should clean your entire system out.
Is it a Web page that pops up (in Internet Explorer), or is it a “system” message?
If it is popping up in IE, you could always take the Web address and put it in as a restricted site in your security options in IE:
Tools, Internet Options, Security, Restricted Sites

whta you have done is actually downloaded a spy ware… and you have to remove that… what you need to do is get a spy ware software… try http://www.webroot.com for spy sweeper. download the s/w and update it’s definitions. run the software for full sweep and remove the spy wares installed… dont remove all the spy without noticing them.. some spywares like cd_clint.dll i.e. Cydoor is used by P2P s/w like KaZaa and if you remove it they wont work. so just check and remove… I hope it helps you (it helped me)..

I had a similar problem with a hijacked home page. It made me INSANE. I found a program called Spybot Search and Destroy which blocks many known hijackers as well as spyware.I also found some useful info on this site. http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/hijacked/
