I’m not sure how this works. I just enter the phone number of ANY mobile phone and my message will go through? Their mobile phone does not require a version of Yahoo IM?
I am trying to send an SMS to my sister’s mobile phone in Europe and Yahoo Messenger is telling it cannot send a message to that number. It gives me a link to “find out why” but that link is nothing more than the Yahoo Im features page. It provides no reasons as to why I cannot send an SMS.
SMS is only supported in certain countries by Yahoo! Messenger. Unfortunately, no European nations are on the list:
How do I send a text (SMS) message from Messenger? – Messenger
Lame. Canada isn’t even on the list.
I believe Canada uses the same phone numbering system as the U.S. You might try sending a message to a Canadian number. It might work. If you do, let us know what you find 🙂
Why do yahoo always seem to forget about Europe, it’s not that it’s small after all lol
Real letdown from yahoo once again.
