Sending Files

After I reformatted my computer and installed AIM, for some reason I couldn’t send files anymore. I could receive them, but not send a file or directly connect with anyone. Then the next day I couldn’t even receive a file. So I uninstalled AIM, download AIM 5.9 and i was able to send file sand directly connect, but not receive files. So I uninstalled 5.9 and reinstalled AIM95 (I dont know why, I was frusterated at the time), and when AIM95 was reinstalled, I can now receive files again, but not send or directly connect. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.
