After using MSN Messenger for awhile I’m back on AIM (and I already miss my custom smilies folder). I have AIM version 5.5, and since I haven’t been on in awhile it keeps asking me if I want to upgrade. In terms of functionality or efficiency are there any good reasons to upgrade AIM ? Or is it just going to hog more system resources and I’m better off with 5.5? Will I be able to get rid of the buddy window ads? Thanks in advance.
well… the ads aren’t going away. AIM has a pretty tight grip on that advertising. if you’re comfortable with the use of 5.5 and don’t want to bother with the newer version (triton), just stick with it.
I personally don’t like Triton, so I stick with the previous version. (i actually use Trillian as my primary IM client, but occasionally switch to AIM when I need to get on a different screenname)
