Memberlately a couple of my contacts have messaged me several times while my msn shows them as offline. sometimes I can send messages back, sometimes I can’t. does anyone know why this would be happening, I’m not sure if it is a problem with my msn, or theirs.

Memberi’m not sure either but i have been told by friends on my contact list that i’m showing offline and msn asks them to put in a mobile number. i receive their messages and they receive mine.

ParticipantAs you’ll see from my earlier thread you’re not alone with this problem….My reply about this from msn was useless. I’ve emailed them again and insisted they look at it but so far no reply.
Also I think it would be a good idea if you emailed msn about it via their help page as I can’t really see them fixing it unless they know about it and enough people complain about it.
I’ve checked on other forums and there do seem to be others having the same problem and as faults go, it’s a pretty major one. If folks cant see you, how can they talk to you, they might even think you’ve blocked them!
I have to work these next 3 nights so wont be able to check but if anyone has any idea as to how to proceed with this or finds its fixed, maybe they could post or PM me. Messenger is important to me as friends and family are abroad and I really need it to work right.
Kindest regards

MemberREcently I had many friends with this issue.
After numerous trouble shooting … I realized that if they created a new Hotmail account …they no longer showed offline .
it seems that this is a hotmail profile issue . I’m not sure if the profile is stored locally. Re-installing msn does not fix the problem. However some have said that re-installing Windows helped.
The ones showing offline are the users that need to re-create accoount.December 6, 2005 at 2:39 pm #134303tavistok
MemberThis recently has been happening to myself, I tried software such as trillian, but got the same problem, so my only guess can be that its msn’s fault. i have contacted them, but as of yet no reply! One extra problem I seem to be encountering is that some messages get through others dont, trying to hold a conversation with someone who your messenger says is offline is strange to say the least
