Anyone know how to make Yahoo! messenger always show you as “Idle”. Thanks.

No.
Make a new away message as ‘Idle’ and set it to it everytime you log on.Detn8r

Maybe because they don’t want to be pestered by someone else? Maybe they want to choose who they message, rather than being chosen. Whatever the case, you can effectively accomplish this by logging on in invisible mode.

Aiy my little children.
Gather round. Yes you too Jeff.Shardin[/b] – it IS possible. Read on.
detn8r[/b] – but then you won’t have the Idle Icon next to your name so your buddies know you’re not idle.
Jeff[/b] – You have a booger hanging out of your right nostril.
Spiderman[/b] – but then wouldn’t your status become un-idle the second you move your mouse? I believe Shardin wants to be idle but still working on the computer.Munchkins, I recommend Trillian. Once Trillian is fully setup; Click on the BRB Icon and navigate to “New Away Message…”.
My children – are you still with me?
Type a label. “Idle” seems to be popular for Idle statuses.
Then select the “Advanced>>” button my children.
Set the Yahoo status to Idle.
Are you there children? Are you okay? Annie are you okay?
Type any set of jibberish you prefer in the message field such as ashaljclauiwec or ncalsudfhlksajhflaskjfhalsdf etc..
You have completed the journey. Now munchkins – hurry on and make some more chocolate.Okay you don’t have to do that if you don’t want to… it’s pretty long.
