OK, so I have no clue how the hell I did this, but I can’t seem to fix it. The ruler that runs vertical on the left has disappeared, so I cannot resize it. It’s really a pain, because this feature is an essential.
Here’s what I did:
So as you can see, it’s no longer there. It’s on the Print Layout View, and that’s the one I wish to keep.
I have repaired the software, reinstalled the software, and it also doesn’t seem to change the settings. Anyone have any clues?
Maybe I’m missing something, but I see a ruler in that screenshot perfectly fine, on the left.
I circled what he wants on the left…

Have you checked your top margin? Go into File, Page Setup and increase the size of the margin and see if that works.
Are you sure you had those before? Those are the left, hanging, and first line indents…they are ONLY on the horizontal ruler. You can have a grey space on both rulers, however. Like this:

But yours is like this:

You see where the arrow is? Drag your mouse over that area until you have a pointer that goes up and down…and then try to raise or lower the gray space until it appears/dissapears…you should be able to move it…but those arrow doodads david circled will not appear on the vertical ruler.
It seems to go “back to normal” once in a bit, but when I open a saved document with these settings saved, I don’t get a pointer to resize it. (though, when it “fine” and I make the grey disappear, I can resize back to normal) Weird stuff.
