Participant– Give signatures and member info a bit different background color… maybe a bit darker — so the posts ‘stand out’ a little bit.
– The signature divide line needs to come back!!!
– ‘Location’ feild should be truncated to a limited number of characters, or simply JUST a country name, such as back on Snitz.

MemberYou won’t even need the ‘divide line’ between the signature and post anymore then. The color would be seperator then. 🙂

KeymasterBring back the divide.

Participantwell… since you say to… i’m sure it’ll happen.
i dont know, it does look a little weird without the divider, but all it takes to fix that is to have your signature be displayed in a different color, or off to the side… like mine. i was going to add a horizontal rule, but forgot that html is disabled… so much for

ParticipantHow about just adding a ______________ at the beginning of your signature?
Edit: ok, I just tried it with dashes. Good enough, I guess.

Participant-Most of the images need to be replaced with fresher ones. All these dull gray ones look depressing.
Example of some images to change are the IM icons, thread status icons (at least one image is used for two different purposes).
-New forum markers that flow with the board. Example: Kimble’s
-New simlies… again, Kimble’s.
-Forum user names.. be toned down a text size? Or maybe 12 sizes? 😛
-Post icons.. OUT!
-Some sort of ‘mark all threads as read’ in the ‘new posts’ area.January 2, 2005 at 12:15 am #110534Tigerblade

but still, these are all relatively minor changes… so the site still looks good anyway

KeymasterEverything was fine before you guys started playing at editing template files. I was happy with the default layout to be honest. I’m not sure that the recommended changes would improve anything. Its a new forum. Its not the old forum, its a new forum. You’ll get used to the new layout eventually. Editing php code in template files to make the forum look like snits, phpbb or any other conventional forum layout won’t improve things, vBulletin is nice as is at default. I don’t think improvements are needed, overall.

ParticipantAlso, I thought of again, moving the ‘last post by’ to the right, and having the number of posts and threads on the left. View screenshot attached for example.

ParticipantI still find it quite hard to tell posts apart. Anyone feel the same?

MemberI agree with detn8r on moving the “last post by” to the right. It would look cleaner since you will have numbers next to topic titles, rather than member names next to topic titles.
But detn8r, I noticed you only did that for the categories, I thought it would look good next to topics also
EDIT: Heres the comparison, on a large scale:
