Does anyone know why when my friend signs off of Yahoo, at the bottom of the screen there are two messages saying XXXX has signed off. When chatting with anyone else there is the usual one box saying xxx has signed off. Is it possible this person is using another chat client? Has anyone seen this before?

And other people only have one of their names on their friends list. The person has to go into options and click to NOT show alias.

It’s a yahoo glitch, i would get that a lot too. If i had that person’s main id and alias i would see 4 boxes, and if i only had their main name i would see 2 boxes. It goes away on its own and comes back rarely. Nothing major to worry about, unless you find it really annoying, you can change it in preferences to not show the box when a person logs out. -
