I was wondering if anybody knows about Skype. I’m thinking about downloading the beta, but I don’t know if I should just wait until the final product comes out. If anybody knows if its good or not, please reply. Thanks.
http://www.skype.com :: that’s the website
Don’t you think it is going to be full of spyware? I’m not an expert or anything with programs, but I figured so since Kazaa is making it.
Well, from what I know, it says NO SPYWARE/ADWARE on the website. Maybe it’s just a lie, but you could always use a spyware killer.
Ok, I may be wrong, but I dont think theres any spyware. I saw a magazine article about it and it didnt mention anything. Also, if they had spyware in it when the website clearly says it doesnt, that would surely break the license agreement and be illegal.
However, I could be wrong. Does anyone else have any ideas?
I have used Skype for quite some time now and I can assure you there is no spyware and adware. I prefer Skype as my main way for voice chat, it is the clearest voice chat program I have ever used.

I also use skype,
NO SPYWARE,Totally secure encrypted audio…….I would definetly recommend this program…….(Uses heavy resources especially on Win98 during a voice session (Because of the ENCRYPTED AUDIO))

Well, it’s not Kazaa’s fault that you get those viruses from downloading stuff of that program, it’s other people who have created the downloads and inserted viruses and that crap. If the actual Kazaa company made skype, then I think I could trust them, couldn’t you?
can I use usb phones with skype ?
AwesomeSauce, if you’ve ever used kazaa you’d know that he’s talking about the huge amounts of adware, spyware, and all the other stuff it installs. Not viruses. I was a bit cautious when I first used Skype a while back. It really does have no spyware or anything though and it seemed like a pretty cool program. I just didnt have a use for it or any friends who would use it so I got rid of it. Its been in beta quite a while now so you may just want to try it rather than wait for a final. It may be a while…
I use it, It’s pretty nice. 🙂
