November 8, 2003 at 9:46 am #88562Dr KimbleParticipantJeff, I have been waiting for smileycentral to work in AIM forever. This is really really really cool and it works great, thanks a bunch :D:):D:):):):D:):)
November 8, 2003 at 6:39 pm #88558FAN70MMemberI highly recommend not downloading that garbage.
November 8, 2003 at 7:23 pm #88559will1394Memberwhy would that be, FAN70M?
Also, can anyone else on AIM see these smileys?November 8, 2003 at 8:54 pm #88555Someguy03MemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by will1394why would that be, FAN70M?
Also, can anyone else on AIM see these smileys? From the Smiley Central Help Page:
Quote:quote:Does my buddy need to download the IM Beta version of Smiley Central in order for me to send him/her IM smileys? While you can always send your buddies smileys, your buddies will not be able to view the smileys unless they have downloaded Smiley Central Beta. Instead, they will see smiley code rather than an icon. In addition, they will see a message from us with a link to our Beta download page. Once your buddies have downloaded Smiley Central Beta, they will be able to view and send smileys, too!

I highly recommend not downloading that garbage. Why? What is the problem with it?
November 8, 2003 at 9:32 pm #88556korruptmindMemberok it doesnt work with deadaim and probably with no aimutation so DONT DOWNLOAD IT if u have em
November 8, 2003 at 10:02 pm #88552BrianMemberSmiley Central is nice, but I don’t recommend them at all. They have a lot of bugs and slows your computer down. They even install unwanted stuff like MyWay’s search engine and pop-blocker which I find very annoying. You are better off with Google.com and its pop-blocker. 🙂

Hes probably talking about the MysearchBar that comes with it…
November 8, 2003 at 11:23 pm #88560Dr KimbleParticipantBut all you have to do to get rid of my search bar is right click on your tool bar in IE and uncheck mysearch, so it is not a big problem.
November 8, 2003 at 11:55 pm #88557FAN70MMemberMySearchBar is bundled with it, you go to uninstall it says it’s uninstalled when it’s still on your computer.
I thought it was like ATP’s Smile Studio, THAT would be good, but not this, it’s horrible.
November 9, 2003 at 1:24 am #88553Someguy03MemberYes, this is very bad. It delays normal smilies. First there sn comes up and it shows as if they sent a blank message, and then after a second or 2 the smilie shows up. That box at the top is annoying also.
November 9, 2003 at 4:36 am #88551FanaticMemberYou might want to check out this discussion in the SpywareInfo forums. It installs an search bar that you might not want, but it doesn’t appear to have any spyware or adware per se.
I have programs that install OTHER programs that they think I’ll find useful. Don’t give me extra crap that I didn’t want, thank-you-very-much!
November 9, 2003 at 10:28 pm #88563Dr KimbleParticipantWell, I like the smiley central, but it does have a major draw back–>the other aim smiley secrets don’t work 😮 So the best bet is to remove it from the computer, Add/remove programs doesn’t work for some reason so all you have to do is find where you saved the download, delete it and empty your recycle bin.
