My name appears every so often, so they have not gone BL only..but, can anyone explain a little better? There has to be someway I can get the pw through email…ugh. for now, ive changed my email pw. ParticipantI dont understand your post. Cant you explain it a little better? And if you dont want “groups@aol” just block there email address. Fast, Easy, Simple.

ParticipantIf you can’t login to the account, and you cannot access the email associated with the account, then say goodbye to that name and go register a new one.

MemberIt is mentioned in my pinned AIM Dangers and Solutions topic:
Quote:quote:Grouping: This exploit is used to steal screenames with a fake email. Someone will join an AOL Group (groups.aol.com) and send several screenames an invitation to join the group they join. If one of the screenames has a fake email, the sender of the invitation will get a message sent to his email, saying the message could not arrive, and it will list the fake email. The sender can then register the email and request the password. Now some email services (hotmail used to be one of them) automatically reject AOL group invitations, and the sender will recieve an email back anyway, saying the email did not exist or that there was a problem sending it. So if the person knew your password they mightve gotten into your email and stolen your account.
Was your password the same with your email as with the Screename?
