MemberI was wondering if it was at all possible to make a plug-in or mod that allows Trillion to have that little pop-up window in the little bottom right-hand corner like with MSN telling you when someone signs on, etc. so I dont have to keep reopening it just to see who just signed on. Please make this for me. Ty.

MemberThere’s already a plugin for this, which you can find in the plugin forums on Cerulean’s site. Two, in fact. Look for either ‘Popup Notification’ or ‘MSN-Popup’; popup notification is more general, while MSN-Popup duplicates the old MSN popup functionality. 🙂

Participanti know this is a rather old topic, but I figured i’d continue this one instead of start a new one just like it.
i recently switched to Trillian to escape the evil that is AIM. of course i’m not gonna pay $25 for Pro, so i’ve got Basic. one thing I miss, though, is the popup notifications when people signon/signoff. so……… I started working on a program to do this. keep in mind its very rough at the moment, but it works for me. what I want to know is, would other people be interested in this? if enough people show interest, I might develop it further and consider releasing it to the public…
comments?

ParticipantYes, I would definately have an interest in this. I too switched to trillian (basic) a while ago and the only thing I miss is pop-up notifications. I’d say to keep going, I would certainly use it. The only question I have though is: will it work for all skins?

Participantwell so far the idea is that it uses the AIM logs to read when something changes (based on events), then displays a small window in the bottom corner of the screen (like the MSN toaster popup) with the screenname and what happened (like… “Tigerblade has signed on”)…
like I said, it’s very rough, since i’ve only been working on it since last night… I dont use IRC, ICQ, or Yahoo messengers, so for now I can only work with AIM and MSN, but as far as I can tell the logs are configured the same way, so its possible. another problem I have is that when the window pops up, it steals focus from whatever you’re working on… so say you’re typing in a word document, and someone signs on, it’ll steal focus and you wont be able to type for the duration of the message (which is currently set at 3 seconds, but i’m working on making a “Preferences” window to change options like that)
but if there’s interest, I guess i’ll keep smoothing it out
