AHH.. I DOWNLOADED THE NEW VERSION 5.0. I SHUT DOWN THE COMP. A FEW MINS LATER I COME BAQ.. AND ITS BAQ TO TEH OLD 4.8.! THEN IT TELLS ME TO DOWNLOAD THE NEW 5.0. AGAIN! TALK ABOUT DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN…grr. SO I HAD TO DELETE AIM AND DOWNLOAD EVERYTHING AAALLL OVER AGAIN. WHATS WRONG?
when you say “delete”, do you mean uninstall ? have you made sure you have fully uninstalled AIM (sometimes people say there are two instances of aol messenger)…get rid of them all….restart your computer and then install messenger again.
Yes, this happene to me too. I downloaded the latest version, 5.0, and it didn’t overwrite my current files, but instead made a new folder with a different sort of name, I believe the Copyright and Trademarks were changed. It’s best to uninstall AIM before installing a new version.
