good day:
I have just finished checking through all the posts and unless i missed one I think this will be a new post…………..I hope
previously when I was chatting with my contact the sound was clear and good
however lately the sound is just horrible. I sounds like they are talking in a barrel of water. We then log onto skype and the sound is perfect.
has anyone else encountered this???
This started about 3 weeks ago
I just reformatted my hard-drive and installed the new version of messenger which by the way is good but still the problem is there
Thankyou

Is this just with one particular contact or with all contacts? Have you been able to test it with more than one person? The reason I ask is that it may have nothing to do with you and is really a problem at your contact’s end.
Skype does handle things a bit differently when it comes to voice and video. I’ve been successful on Skype lately where I’ve had problems on WLM or Yahoo.
Can you also confirm that both you and your contact have uPNP enabled? You can check by going to Tools/Options/Connection and it will tell you either uPNP or non-uPNP. I’m not 100% sure on the new version of WLM but previous versions in order to use voice and/or video properly and reliably you needed to have it enabled.
Let me know and we’ll see what we can do. Also, does it start out clear and go garbled or is it in a barrel from the start. Did you make sure to update your sound card drivers when you did the reformat? And was the reformat at the same time as the problem occurred?
