ParticipantWell excuse me while I whip out my thesaurus. K, now if you had actually read my last few points instead of just busting through the door to play a hero, I suggested this idea BECAUSE of the issue I wrote about in my other thread in the staff forum. If you hadn’t read it, why not? I think it’s a legitimate point, not to mention different from my original. But I kept it in this thread because I don’t want to start a new one when it DOES follow this one.
I don’t agree with their points. I’m posting to debate it. I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to do that. Jeff hadn’t fully said, I’m making a stand and not doing anything anyone has suggested, so I assumed it was still up for debate. AND HONESTLY, I’m trying to bring some constructive suggestions seeing as I’m still “new” to coming back to the staff. I don’t see why everyone feels hostel against me, but then again after reading that post about me regarding the thread in the premier forum, perhaps everyone feels that way about me being back here. And trust me; you can think whatever you want about me. If you can’t understand what my motives are now and what they have always been for BBB, then you hardly do know me.
And as for you assuming that I am suggesting these ideas because I think I would fit the role, who gives a rats behind? If someone thinks it’s a legitimate suggestion and worthy of implementing, not granting me that “position – if it were that suggestion” is a bad thing? And I never mentioned that I would consider my self for these, or even mentioned them because I wanted them to be future endeavors for my self wasn’t my intentions. I’m trying to generate friendly thinking for the forum. Because every time I suggest something small, I am always told, “we have more important things to cover”, yet all these important things are not visual. And I get scoffed for suggesting them? Pfft.. well excuse me!

MemberI think it would be rahter stupid to add yet another role to our staff (“Global Advisor” as you so suggest), espcially since, apparently people are already confused about if we’re staff or not?
We really don’t need it, staff are staff. If someone told you to stay in your own section, you tell them that you’re a part of the BigBlueBall Staff and it doesn’t matter what section you moderate. If you have a problem with a user, you can talk to him/her privately or contact your team leader. Simple. We don’t need to add a staff role because someone told you to stay in your section.

ParticipantAnd all these “upcoming changes” take so bloody long to implement, I feel like an asshole for REsuggesting them sometimes! I mean, things that take literally seconds to complete end up taking weeks or even months! And when I suggest something, I’m told “oh it will probably be in the new version of BBB”. I mean, honestly, I don’t think there was any “new BBB” past consideration at this point.
And as for the legacy post bit not coming back, I mean why is everyone so bitchy about it when I suggest it? I’ve been at BBB for 4 years and it’s what I have been accustomed to. It’s also the same on EVERY other forum. I can understand BBB tying to be different, but when there ARE people out there that would use it, what is wrong with bringing it back? I can see it probably would take a forum mod or something? But Jeff had it done in the past, and I’m sure he didn’t loose any hair or sleep over putting it in, so what’s the big deal? I mean, it’s a profile option!

There was no intention to ADD a new staff role, I said to add it TO an exsisting one. Then perhaps we have a bigger problem when the staff here doesn’t even know how to handle their postions properly, or be in fear of being too harsh or something. When I have to ask what to say to someone in that situation makes me feel like a tool because Im not new to moderating. It comes second nature to me to back up a staff member, but with the recentness of people seeing Community Centre staff backing each other up to the point that they are forming like a Great Wall of BigBlueBall, I don’t even know what I am supposed to do anymore. Thats not cool 🙁
