Hi everyone, i’ve seen some aim buddies have their screen name on for a very long time (like 3- 4 days or more). Im not sure if they have their pc on all the time or not…But im just wondering if anyone know there is a way to stay signed in for a long time when you dont turn on your computer.
(for example you are on the vacation and u just want to leave an away message for your friends but u cant leave your pc on all the time )
Im not sure you’ll understand what I wrote but if anyone know a way…please tell me…thanks alot… 😉
p.s I tried webaim but it didnt work. 🙁December 12, 2004 at 1:56 am #108404heil_heinekenMemberAs far as I know, you cannot be signed on AIM with your computer turned off. Sometimes, if you are signed into AIM and then suddenly shut down your computer without exiting out of AIM first, your screen name can stay online for awhile or so. And if I were you, I wouldn’t want my friends bothering me while I’m on vacation. After all, it’s a vacation, stay away from the drama for a while 😉

you can only stay on ai-buddy for 12hrs, and if you have a problem with webaim, just keeptrying untill you get logged in.January 14, 2005 at 1:08 am #108406some_random_guyMemberHotShotScott wrote:you can only stay on ai-buddy for 12hrs, and if you have a problem with webaim, just keeptrying untill you get logged in.
ok now, webaim is doing better…i think its really sutpid how ai-buddy only stays on for 12 stinking hours when they promise u 24/7….January 24, 2005 at 9:24 pm #108407ILikeCherryCokeMembersign up for the free service. you can have your messages forwarded to your email address or phone and it keeps your screen name on for a long time. I use this after I make a new screen name and want to announce to everyone that I no longer use that screen name. Give the free service a try…. it’s what I use and I love it!
The most it does is display an ad at the botton of your away msg and an ad for your profile, but it’s only when you are signed in through their service and not on AIM with that screen name. It’s all web-based. Enjoy

November 29, 2006 at 12:27 am #108400TigerbladeParticipantjp198780 — someone will answer whenever they come up with a suitable response. for the time being, no one seems to be aware of any alternatives. just because no one answers, it doesn’t mean that no one has read the question. besides, this isn’t the only thread where this question has been asked.
be patient. at the moment, i dont think there are any other services available to keep you signed in. why do you need so badly to be signed in for a long time without having your computer on?
