MemberJenn,
for your first problem: He is probably using a mic lock to grab the mic when he comes into the room. This is the easiest way to steal the mic.For your second problem: Even if you ignore someone, if another person has their mic active and the person you ignored is still on the mic. You will hear the person you ignored via the other person. Also on this note, if you ignore someone through yahoo messenger, all they have to do to become un-ignored is to leave the chat room and come back in. One solution to this is to get a hold of a copy of Y!tunnel Pro and place the annoying person into the Super Iggy Bin. Once in the Iggy Bin you will not see or hear this person ever again, or until you remove them from the Iggy Bin. This is the method that I use to rid myself of an annoying person.
For problem 3: Now this is just a guess but the person you are talking about probably changed their nickname on their profile to all capital letters. When you change your nickname via your yahoo profile, your name will show up as your nickname in Chat.
Hopefully this helps you out. I would post a link to get Y!tunnel Pro here, however it is against BBB’s forum policies so if you want a copy please visit http://www.ytunnelpro.com

MemberYou should confront him openly in the room and get others to ask him the same questions

Memberprob. 1 :Maybe the prog. you d/l’d for the mic grab has an exploit that he knows how to use.
Prob 2: I have found un-iggying and re-iggying (Those are made up words…but I think you get the point) work quite well in getting rid of annoying mic grabbbers.Prob. 3: He may have had his ID before Yahoo! changed protocol OR he is using a prog. that you probably won’t find discussed in this forum.
As for Gaz, yes that MIGHT work…but then he might also decide that he’s going to pick on her more rather than answer her questions.
Good Luck Jenn, I hope things work out for you. 🙂

MemberOk, in answer to your first question.
He was using a program to steal mics VIA an exploit in the
voice server.
Which allows numerous IDS to have voice and come into the room.
So he probably brought in these names, and ignored your name through
it.
And since Yahoo’s voice works on a percentange base.
If you were ignored by 6/10 chatters, you lose dominance on the mic.
Ok, now about your question concerning capitol ids.
Obviously there is a difference between a nickname and the actual ID.
Before 1998 Yahoo! allowed you to create any user id you wanted.
There were no exceptions about dashes spaces or any other kind of
ASCII in the nickname.
Now however, Yahoo! does not allow the creation of any character
names.
If this was his actual ID w/ caps, then I would say it was probably
created before or on 1998.Now if it was just his nickname, then its quite simple.
Just change your nickname to have caps

MemberOk jen well that bloke that came in the room is usin a program to take voice I have this program and it is set to refresh voice every certain amount of seconds witch keeps him always on top of you .. if you want the program it’s on my site http://www.mad-tool.tk
now 2 your lookin for Caps ? ok well he’s usin somthin called hacked Java . hacked java allows you to use caps in your name the only thing is you can only use it in java… wich can also be downloaded in my site ..
i’d Say that bloke was usin Java cause java allows you to automatically hold the mic with out touching it and no one can step over you . i’d say he came into the room pressed the mic waited for you to get off put you on ignore and when you went to press the mic again ” Beeeeeep ” thats cause has you on ignore … Okay any more questions don’t hesitate to ask me I just felt sorry for you cause these blokes have a clue what there tellin you he he !!! MemberI guess blackhat might close down johhny boys site ahahaha only kidding seriously ask the offender to stop if he doesnt get his internet providers name and look at their terms of service to see if he is violating them in interfering with the mic

MemberLol, good luck getting his ISP, or any other info on him. I’m pretty sure he won’t be very willing to give it out. And none of you guys needs any kind of mic lockers/booters to deal with these people. There are third party chat clients designed to deal with that sort of thing, like Ytunnel Pro, or Yahelite, or any other third party chat client. Second, if he’s bothering you, dont’ say anything about it. ^_^ The more annoyed and angry you get, the more fun he has. There are ways to deal with those script kiddies and proggie punchers, but getting upset and angry isn’t the way to do it. If they boot you, just rejoin the room and don’t let it bother you, if they steal the mic, just ignore them (or turn the mic off complete since it’s going to be useless) and go about chatting like he/she was never there.
