MemberMichael, what version of Ytunnel do you have? Remember that everytime a new version comes out, there are new programs written to boot thru them. Make sure you have the most current versions of all anti-boot programs. That way hopefully they will be patched against the next string of boot codes.

Memberytunnel will not protect you from ALL booters. There is no program ANYWHERE that is safe. As fast as they patch them, the booters come up with new boot codes. Just keep all of your programs, including anti-virus, up to date, and it will “cut down” on being booted, but will never fully stop it.

MemberDue to the way Y!Tunnel works, just filtering certain codes, it can never be full boot resistant, it’s the bad programming of Yahoo! and their choice of interfaces that make is so susceptible.
Because chat clients are programmed to a higher quality, they are often not affected by 99% of the codes, but are susceptible to a few errors. This is a huge threat reduction.
If you are interested in a client, which are mostly now cam and voice compattible, see a review of 9 Windows clients here:

MemberFreddy, do you use a client?? If so which one? If not, which do you reccomend? (I really respect your opinion!) I went to your site (very cool by the way!) but I am still unsure. I just want protection from people trying to boot me. I have seen Yahelite before and I really wanted to use it. Should I just quit my whining and go for it? Thanks!

MemberSoon I will be biased perhaps, I am writing my own client :-P.
The first 5 clients are the most user friendly on that list. Cheeta is shareware now. YChat is a bit old. Y!Mlite I tried to help, but the author threw it back at me. YaZak has a bit of a bad User Interface. Conclusion, try YahELite!!
At just 400 or so KB, it takes no time to download, and if you don’t like it, no time to delete. I use YahELite, have done for a long time. Af first it looks a little confusing, but its quite easy to learn and can do a lot.
Voice chat? This is a problem. You can use external program yvoice, http://conurelover.kjsservices.com/yvoice/yahelite . Just you have to find a few things each time you change room to get it to connect.
If only I knew how yahelite interfaced its vox program, I would write a replacement yahvox.

MemberThank you So much for your help. You are a true asset to this site! I am going to try it now. And keep me posted on your client… I’d be interested in trying it out as well. Thanks again!
