Tomorrow I have a snowday I’m so pumped.
Most likely I’m going snowmobiling! =]
Random I know, but I was excited!
February 14, 2007 at 5:24 am #157910detn8rParticipantHow bad is this snow storm where you live? It’s only going to hit Southern Ontario, but there is a little bit going around where I live.
I do know though, a lot of people I was speaking with tonight from the US were driving home in it, so hopefully no one we know got hurt!
February 14, 2007 at 7:28 am #157908Jeff HesterKeymasterWhat is this “snow” you speak of?
It’s supposed to be 78f here in Aliso Viejo this Friday. I’m think of mountain biking to the Top of the World (a route that gives me a view of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island in the distance). Ah, life is good! :p
February 14, 2007 at 12:33 pm #157912TigerbladeParticipantJeff… I hope you’ve got a spare room cause I’m moving to your place. For the last two weeks, we’ve been lucky to get double-digit temperatures. Any double-digit temperatures we do get, aren’t in the positive.
So get that couch ready.
February 14, 2007 at 2:17 pm #157918BShink21MemberI live in Maine, the part I live in is suppose to get 18-30 inches. =]
i love snow, forever.
February 14, 2007 at 2:31 pm #157909Jeff HesterKeymasterWe have a couch downtairs next to the 55″ HD screen and the Xbox 360 (it’s easy to fall asleep on). And the pool is right out front.
February 14, 2007 at 7:24 pm #157921PolarBearNPRParticipant:woot: This is our 5th *calamity* day; 3 last week, 2 so far this week! I love getting the days off, but if we miss another, we’ll have to make it up in the summer . . . and I’ve got too many things to do this summer to spend time making up time. So, come on sun . . . melt this white stuff.
February 14, 2007 at 8:50 pm #157914syntaxMemberMy brother got out of school 3 hours early yesterday while I had to go to classes. I guess that’s how it is once you get to college. The weather wasn’t that bad yesterday but dumped some ice and snow overnight. So schools and colleges were closed today. It’s the first time I’ve had a full snow day off while in college.
February 14, 2007 at 10:23 pm #157911TigerbladeParticipantsyntax… when I was in college, classes were cancelled only twice. both were due to campus- or city-wide power outages, both caused by careless construction workers. even when the temperature hit -30F my freshman year (not counting windchill), we still had class. the chancellor was kind enough to send out an informational email to all the students:
“dress warm.”
February 15, 2007 at 12:17 am #157919BShink21MemberAs of right now we have about 2 feet of fresh snow! =]
Tonight it’s suppose to intensify into a full blown blizzard, I’m so pumped. There also predicting no school tomorrow!
February 15, 2007 at 2:40 pm #157920BShink21MemberNo School! :]
again ;]
February 15, 2007 at 7:55 pm #157916DrBroccoliParticipantBShink, you’re getting what we just got here in Ohio! The storm came through here and is going straight to you =D. Enjoy it, but be careful, it got icy here, and we still have a bit of ice (good for school closing, but not if you’re driving anywhere).
February 15, 2007 at 8:21 pm #157917BShink21MemberIt didn’t ice up here that bad, just kinda of slippery with the snow. Actually I’m heading out tonight, since the roads have cleared up; but yesterday th roads were treacherous! Even the trails were, we had a snowmobile accident last night. We got in total about 20 inches! =]
February 15, 2007 at 11:54 pm #157913Sh8keS 32MemberWe got 22 inches in total and got Wednesday and Thursday off too and tomorrows we were only scheduled for a 2 and a half hour today for teacher conferences! :p Snowmobiling on Wednesday was crazy. We almost got lost in a white out, but it was still better than school.
February 16, 2007 at 3:04 am #157915gossipingraeMemberjeff, you are no longer my friend. i despise anyone who lives in any sunny state right about now. my parents are vacationing in jamaica right now…my mom called the other day to tell me how dark her tan is getting! 🙁
philly was only hit with like 4 inches, if that. tom, i have a couch ready should your ticked to jeff’s fall through. we had a heat wave today…22 degrees!
a friend of mine from high school who is getting her master’s degree at the university of minnesota said this in her away message last week…”today on my 10 minute walk to class my breath froze on my eyelashes and scarf. no, i’m not kidding.”
hang in there folks! at least an early spring is coming, since punxsutawney phil didn’t see his shadow!
