that is the new password however I tried entering in just “a” as a password and “a ” with spaces up too 16 characters anyone think they can help me out if so I will offer a reward too anyone with advice that helps too me getting my screen name back it is very important I get this back
Well, I say go back to AOL and ask for another password. Say you lost yours again. If you can’t get it back did you save your aim buddy list to yuor computer and if so you can get a screen name close to your old one and upload your saved buddylist file to your new screen name.
Aol doesn’t help out aim users lucky me :-/ and I do think they added html anyone wanna try and help me?
ok here goes…
aim and yahoo are alike you lose a password they email you back a generated password.. after filling out the corrected details..
the username will remain the same but for some reason you got back a password with just “a” perhaps that is not your password but your password reminder..
912, cracking into an account, even for suppossedly honest reasons, is not supported by this Forum.
Please don´t post to offer any cracking help again.

From experiance, I’d say that most internet based accounts have the option to reset a password after a ‘secret question’, ‘password reminder’ or similar mechanism. I fully understand your stance though, some wannabe script kiddies may misuse such information.
What I do not understand is the use of html in a password though. As far as I know, Passwords are data, not executable. Also, to start off with, are special characters, including allowed in passwords in AIM/AOL?
it wasn’t a password reminder it was the pw they sent me which was “a ” and I know that somewhere in there they probable put some type of html so taht when my password gets emailed too me (its at yahoo) I won’t be able too see some characters does anyone think they have an answer how I can get my primary aim sn back?

looking around I kinda think I found the html hidden code..try this hold alt 0160 that should give you a invisable character.. so it should look like this now

if you do it right it will look like that thats a html way of writing an invisable code.. if that dont work then ill try find another solution.
abonez thats a multiline password. try getting a multiline password patch for your aim. After you patch it try typing in
“a(enter)
(enter)
(enter)… till it reaches the limit”
or “a(alt+0160)(enter)
(alt_0160)(enter)
(alt_0160)(enter)”
till the limit.
if this didnt work try (Space) instead of 0160.

Your account was locked with a user made AIM program. It functions as a password changer, except tells the AOL email server that you changed your password to one thing, but tells the actual AIM login server that you changed it to something else. So it basically tells the email server the wrong password, and tells the AIM server the right password. So the AIM login uses the real, new password and the email gets the wrong, new password. Sadly, theres no way to get around this or get the password back.
Ex:
Changes returnofbonez password to “Cat”:
Password = Dog
> Email Server = New Password “Dog”
Password = Cat
> Login Server = New Password “Cat”abonez Requests Password – Email Server = Password “Dog”
> User Email – Password is “Dog”
someguy03 Logs in with Password – Enters “Cat”
> Login Server = Password “Cat” – Password Correct
