MemberTwo men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room.
One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the
fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time
flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs,
their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.
The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.
The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.
As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the
room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn’t hear the band – he could see it. In his mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.
Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep.
She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.
As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window.
The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.
He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.
The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.
The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.
She said, “Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.”
Epilogue: There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.
Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can’t buy.
“Today is a gift, that’s why it is called the present.”
The origin of this letter is unknown.
Do not keep this letter. Do not send money. Just forward it to your friends to whom you wish good luck.
People will forget what you said… People will forget what you did…
But people will never forget how you made them feel…🙂

MemberCure for Sorrow
There is an old Chinese tale about a woman whose only son died. In her grief, she went to the holy man and said, “What prayers, what magical incantations do you have to bring my son back to life?”
Instead of sending her away or reasoning with her, he said to her, “Fetch me a mustard seed from a home that has never known sorrow. We will use it to drive the sorrow out of your life.” The woman went off at once in search of that magical mustard seed.
She came first to a splendid mansion, knocked at the door, and said, “I am looking for a home that has never known sorrow. Is this such a place? It is very important to me.”
They told her, “You’ve certainly come to the wrong place,” and began to describe all the tragic things that recently had befallen them.
The woman said to herself, “Who is better able to help these poor, unfortunate people that I, who have had misfortune of my my own?” Shestayed to comfort them, then went on in search of a home that had never known sorrow. But wherever she turned, in hovels and in other places, she found one tale after another of sadness and misfortune. She became so involved in ministering to other people’s grief that ultimately she forgot about her quest for the magical mustard seed, never realizing that it had, in fact, driven the sorrow out of her life.

MemberOoooooh, ok, I got one…
A guy and his wife go to a doctor because the husband’s feeling ill. The guy gets an examination, and the doctor tells his wife, ‘the situation’s bad. Your husband’s dying, ma’am. ‘
‘ Oh, that’s horrible!! Is there anything to do to cure him?’
‘ Yes, you must make love to him. ‘
‘What?’
‘You must make passionate love to him 4 times a day, it’ll boost his system and biuld his immunity.’
‘Ok.’
The woman went to go to her husband. ‘ So, am I gonna be alright?’
‘ Nope. Your gonna die.’There’s a moral somewhere, just haven’t found it.

Participant*weary look on face*
Guess the hormone-sedation wore off…..
It’s national “Kill the Topic Mood” Week. Thanks so much for participating!
I don’t get it… Both the story and how it relates to Shears story. The presence of a doctor? Is that it? Ah I understand. Let’s get you to the “special people” home again………… You sometimes remind me of Raoul from Phantom of the Opera… consider it a compliment.
All jokes.

MemberThis is a story of a baby…Born November 14, 1983, in a small hospital in Ca…8’3oz. After the mother gave birth after 22 hours of labor, she held the little one in her arms…and crying tears of joy.
The mothers fingers touching her dark hair…her sweet face…looking into her perfect blue eyes. Amazed at her tiny hands and feet…Thanking God for such a beautiful gift…
As she grow older, and her wonderful personality bloomed, and her talents emergered….”A dancer Mommy…thats what I want to be.”
So the Mommy took her to dance lessons, and saw how she loved it so. And as she grew older…her love for dancing also grew. She’s in high school now…
“Mom…I want to help others work out there problems through dance”…”Work with kids, sorting out emotions”…The little girl has grown into a beautiful young women…caring, loving, campassionate towards others… A non-rebelious teen.
Putting others before her…Her Mother smiles at the women she has become…Packing up boxes for college…it’s time…the day she has dreamed of is coming soon…She is excited to spread her wings and fly…leaving home to college over 3,000 miles away. Her Mom smiles at her excitment.
Her Mother remembers the first day she held her in her arms…tears roll down her face…But the Mother remember’s through her tears that her baby was a gift to her really…by God…and now she has to let her go.
I love you baby…and I will always be here for you…no matter what…

MemberFriends…
Maybe God wanted us to meet the wrong people before meeting the right ones,
so that when we
finally meet them, we will know how to be grateful for the gift.Maybe when the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times
we look so long at the
closed door that we don’t see the one which has been opened for us.Maybe the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and
swing with, never say a word,
and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you’ve ever had.Maybe it is true that we don’t know what we have until we lose it, but it
is also true that we
don’t know what we have been missing until it arrives.Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love
you back. Don’t expect love
in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart; but if it does not, be
content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like
someone, and a day to love
someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.Don’t go for looks; they can deceive. Don’t go for wealth; even that
fades away. Go for someone who
makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem
bright. Find people that
make your heart smile. There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just
want to pick them from
your dreams and hug them for real.Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want
to be, because you
have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make
you strong, enough
sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.Always put yourself in others’ shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it
probably hurts the other person,
too.The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything;
they just make the most of
everything that comes along their way.Happiness lies ahead for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have
searched, and those who
have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have
touched their lives.Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear.
The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past. You can’t
go on well in life until you let
go of your past failures and heartaches. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so that
when you die, you are the one who is smiling and everyone around you is
crying.🙂

MemberRules for Being Human…
. You will receive a body.
You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire
period this time around.
. You will learn lessons.
You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called life. Each
day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons.
You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.
. There are no mistakes, only lessons.
Growth is a process of trial and error, experimentation.
The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the
experiment that ultimately “works.”
. A lesson is repeated until learned.
A lessons will be presented to you in various forms until you have
learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go to the next
lesson.
. Learning lessons does not end.
There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons. If you
are alive, there are lessons to be learned.
. “There” is no better than “here.”
When you’re “there” has become a “here” you will simply obtain
another “there” that will again, look better than “here.”
. Others are merely mirrors for you.
You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it
reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
. What you make of your life is up to you.
You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them
is up to you. The choice is yours.
. Your answers lie inside you.
The answers lie inside you. The answers in life’s questions lie
inside you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.
. You will forget all this.July 28, 2002 at 11:50 pm #67911Mr. Diablos
