KeymasterI do know this much. AOL Messenger’s Super Buddies (recently featured in some humorous television commercials here in the U.S.) are only available to AOL subscribers, and even then only when using AOL Messenger (not AIM). There is no third-party plug-in or add-on that will get around this.

Memberwell im sure what ever it is garlicChip said was very informative but neways moving on… Jeff is the only person actualy answering the question and thanx… and to alana superbuddies is a part of AOLs messanger program that (from aol 9.0 plus or whatever its called) that is a little cartoon character that appears in the left part of the IM that acts out certain words like when u say “lol” it will laugh. i think theres a monkey and a frog and a few others

KeymasterHere’s a screenshot that shows some of the Super Buddies:
They are three-dimensional, computer rendered characters that are animated. When you send certain smileys they animate to mimic the emotion. They also try to mimic the emotion of your words, watching for certain common phrases like “I love you!” and then playing a short animation, sometimes with a sound as well.
Does that help explain it?
