I am unable to access the Super Webcam feature in Yahoo Messenger 5.5. I have a broadband cable modem that is shared with 2 computers using an SMC Barricade router which has a built-in firewall. I followed the Yahoo Help suggestions and SMC’s instructions to configure the firewall to open port 5100, but it didn’t help. My daughter who’s away at college has a Logitech 4000 webcam like mine and a broadband network connection through her school, but we can’t enable Super Webcam. Before I attempt to connect with anyone, and start the webcam on Yahoo Messenger, it indicates in the statistics window that the frame rate is less that 1 per second. Any thoughts?
I have a similar problem. I’m on a DSL connection running through a Linksys router. I’ve opened up the necessary ports, but no matter what I try, I cannot get the Super Webcam to work. The regular webcam works fine, but as you indicated, the frame rate is pathetic.
Has ANYONE ever gotten the Super Webcam mode to work in ANY configuration????
