See this post by ºNoº, just a random one of quite a few he’s posted recently.
Then click on his id there to view his Profile. It shows as -No-, and shows ZERO posts !It seems a shame that one is allowed to use such characters in one’s ID, if BBB then mis(?)handles them and will in fact never allow a normal link to find all this person’s posts. 🙁
August 5, 2006 at 10:25 pm #149899shifterMemberActually, because Jeff has friendly URL’s enabled, the system translates ºNoº the same way as -No-. It drops the symbols. Of course, this then gives both users the same profile link. I guess the system has a bug! 😮
I’d say just stop allowing the symbols, they must be hard to type when you login anyway. 😉
August 6, 2006 at 3:06 am #149900SpikeMemberI brought this up awhile ago. I had made a suggestion to drop all the stupid characters from future registrants because it messes with the system (This is one example) and it may not display for some people (or it may mean something different) around the world. If popular sites like YouTube can get away with allowing only letters and numbers, I’m sure we can, too.
Ian, rest assured that user still exists in the database, but like shifter said, the profile link is messed up. Even trying the standard link, which should be:
https://bigblueball.com/forums/member.php?u=78153
didn’t even work (it was redirected).
Additionally, this user re-registered under the name Never complaining that he/she could not access her/his old account.
