so i did the symbols but what does it do? it only shows when i go into a chatroom and i never use the chatroom option. is there a way so that when i type to someone it uses my nick name?

February 26, 2005 at 2:27 am #115630OreoMemberI have not done this for a while…it seems they have changed things around a little bit. I just looked again and it is under “messenger” menu then look under “My contact Details” then for “nickname” you can change it to whatever you wish. Hope this helps. 🙂
February 27, 2005 at 2:03 am #115632EvanMemberoo thanks. so wait whats the point of putting symbols in your nickname and doing all those steps if you can just do the steps you told me?
February 27, 2005 at 6:49 am #115635d4rkn3ssMemberI have a feeling that nick will only show up on your side of the conversation. There used to be an option to “send user my contact information” ( which would allow your nick to be changed on their list).. but i can’t find it in the new yahoo.. any ideas?
February 27, 2005 at 7:31 am #115636SubStreamMemberThe reason that yahoo took that option to send user info out is the same reason they tried taking out the option to take your name off of their list. You can still take your name off someone else’s list, but not the same way it used to work.
February 27, 2005 at 11:12 pm #115633EvanMemberso theres no point of changing your nickname then huh? itll just show up the same

Actually if im not mistaken one of the first Disconnect packets was through a contact info.(not 100% sure on that one, but it was either disconnect or a Ypager.exe error)
