Will someone post a link to this Testbuddy program, I’ve been having trouble finding it…you might want to wait for an OK from a mod first though, seeing as it is an “AIM employee” only program. (it is, right?)

Does anyone know of any other versions of TestBuddy besides 3.0.0.1642?.. Please, it would help me a lot. I’ve been looking for a lonnnnnng time.

i dont know, I tried it out but half the features didnt work…..i dont really see the point of this program but thats just my opinion

Yeah, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of stuff. You can act like you’re mobile, change the capabilities you have, and lots of other neat stuff, but nothing you’d expect in an “administrator client” again with the version question..

Believe it or not TestBuddy is an official program from America Online that was used for testing out the AIM client. I used it for only one thing…

It will show the difference between an “i” and “L” when you look up someone’s sn by email. AIM makes them both look the same.

RegStatus is your account’s Registration (privacy) Status.

In the Privacy tab under Preferences (on AIM), within the “Allow users who know my e-mail address to find…” panel are 3 radio buttons.

[RegStatus 3] My screen name
[RegStatus 2] Only that I have an account
[RegStatus 1] Nothing about me

…having a RegStatus of 3 just means that others would be able to look up your ScreenName providing they knew your e-mail address.

That’s good to know.

After experimenting with TestBuddy for some time, I found I was able to send files and entire directories to buddies without having the confirmation notice displayed to them! Also, it seems much faster then File Transfer on regular AIM clients..

Still looking for versions other than 3.~
