MemberHeya heya heya…
I’m trying to figure out how to send a text/mobile message to a friend via yahoo. I have the phone number, but am not sure what format to enter it. It’s a US number, so would I enter it like this?
1-###-###-####
or
1##########
I guess I’m wondering what the proper number format would be.

KeymasterI believe the proper format consists of inputting +1 (where +1 is the country code for the US if you are not living here) before the actual number and then the actual number without the hyphens.
For example, if you do not live in the US (even though I know you do from the location in your profile) you would do the following to send someone in the US a text message:
+1 415 123 4567
otherwise if you do live in the US and are text messaging a US number it would look like this:
415 123 4567
You can enter the phone number with or without spaces. For more information check out both of the following links. It’ll make things clearer for you.

MemberThank you! Looks like it won’t work as she’s on Sprint. Odd that they wouldn’t support mobile messaging even though Sprint supports the use of Messenger on their phones.
What’s weird is that I have another friend who is on Tmobile (which Yahoo says is supported), but her phone number comes up as unsupported as well. However, I have people’s who do not have the area code entered in their details and it says they ARE supported. How could you send a text message without the area code? lol

Messenger. Whenever i do it i do include the 1 even though i am in the U.S. and the text always goes through.
