I thought this was great. Some of the gadgets I had forgotten like the ‘Texas Speak and Spell’, those were the days. And who remembers the old betamax oh my.

Yeah, I remember some of those. Gameboy, iPod, PS2, Lego Mindstorms, and some other stuff. I’ve got Lego Mindstorms 2.0, and it’s a lot of fun. I made a robot that dances and will play catch with you (my own design and programming by the way).
Ah, yes… The GameBoy. Delivering hours of entertainment on a pixelated black-and-white dot-matrix LCD screen.
Gotta love technology history. 🙂
W00t! The Atari 2600/Video Computer System!
Even though I didn’t exist when it was around, it’s still a memorable peice of video game history. It’s interesting to see how much graphics have changed.
I don’t know, I’d lean more towards the godliness of the Famicom…I mean… it did come before atari 2600 *nods sagely*

And yes Spike, who can forget the GameBoy. I don’t play it as much as the non-handheld consoles, but they sure are great on car trips.
Haha. I like the fact that the good old Walkman is right at the top there. Right next to the iPod. It’s scary to think what we could be looking at in another 20 years.
Good find Sarah! I’m glad Nintendo could make it in there! Heh that truly is a piece of history. I agree with Sami the Famicon would have been a better choice but the gameboy did rule for a long time, still does I believe as far as handheld gaming is concerned.
This reminds me of the “You know you’re old when…” jokes. Wow!:woot: how things have changed…yea, we still aren’t flying around in our cars yet (as I wrote in 3rd grade when asked what would the year 2000 be like). Geez, I remember a lot of those and had a few…I loved the speak and spell. I still have my original nes (those are my initals too, lol) and my dad’s atari. I guess I’m still stuck in the old ages because I would rather play pacman and space invaders over anything else today.

Well, it is nice to know that I own 3 of the top 50 gadgets of the past 50 years :p

Nintendo Game Boy (1989)
Motorola DynaTAC 8000X (1983) – well I own this one in the form of a walkie talkie that mimed the phone :pI was surprised that the Apple II computer series did not make it, those were a breakthrough for personal computers! Also, I’d think the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) or even the original Playstation more of a pioneer than the Playstation 2. I guess my idea of great is different than theirs 😮
At least the original Gameboy made it! I still play with it, so it has to be great! :p
