I have the newest version of AIM and almost all of the add-ons that I have been trying to get only work for the older versions of AIM…does anyone find it worth it to keep the new version of what….?
😀me personally I don’t like the newest version of AIM. There’s spyware (Wildtangent) and it jsut seems like a whole bunch of junk
the only good thing would be the notifications and the sn linking, but with an older version of AIM + deadaim you get notifications+tabbed windows (although no sn linking). What I have is AIM 5.2.3292 + DeadAim 4.1
i love this combinationwho needs sn linking when you can just clone, I find cloning to be less confusing — I use AIM+ with the newest version of AIM
and what sucks about linking is that you cant edit any preferences of the linked SN’s or edit info or go on chatrooms…..its like getting a rental car..its all standard
I have the new AIM because I found it to be easier to reshack than the older versions. It has a cleaner interface (to me anyways). I grew tired of seeing those 3 coins, it made AIM look all crowded. Besides the invisable mode AIM hasen’t really changed. So, I really couldn’t give you a decent reason why I upgraded. Just did. :

you have to be kidding me… its a nightmare to reshack… at least it was the time I tried it. if you wouldnt mind, could you send me a copy of your Aimres.dll? I got it almost the way I wanted, but then decided I liked the old one better
You want a aimres.dll of the new AIM? If so, sure. Just IM on AIM, i’ll be happy to give you my custom aimres.dll. Hell, i’ll even give you a custom buddyui.ocm if ya want. Heh, about the reshack thing, i’m a fast learner when it comes to figuring things out. Modifying AIM is easy. 😉
