I installed Yahoo messenger a while back on a customer’s computer and i’d log in once in a while to chat w/ buddies during slow times working on their comp. Invariably I’d get offline messages from 2003— 4 YEARS AGO!! This has never happened anywhere else but their house… I have NO idea why
February 25, 2007 at 1:44 am #157331imported_Ven0mMemberThat is a very strange issue indeed. What version of Yahoo! Messenger is running on the computer?
Here’s something you can try…
Navigate to C:Program FilesYahoo!Messenger and delete Cache folder while Yahoo! Messenger isn’t running. 🙂
February 25, 2007 at 1:54 am #157336uptonmMemberit was the latest version… here’s the thing, i don’t want it to stop necessarily, i still get my current offlines… i’d like to know how to manipulate the bug to get my other offlines too if i could 😛
February 25, 2007 at 2:11 am #157332imported_Ven0mMemberI doubt you can. I’m sorry, it’s most likely a server or a cache issue.
February 25, 2007 at 2:13 am #157337uptonmMemberits no big deal really, just having some fun
February 25, 2007 at 4:42 am #157334__GHOST__MemberMaybe the clock on their computer was set for that time and date. I know that if you set an incorrect time and date on the computer, emails you send via yahoo from that computer will show the computer’s time and date as the sent time and date.
February 25, 2007 at 11:41 pm #157329Jeff HesterKeymasterI tested it myself. Does your computer say the correct Date? I changed the date on my computer and that is the date i recieved the IM. So maybe if your offline and you get a messege it uses there Date that they have it set to.
February 26, 2007 at 4:44 am #157330fd64stangMemberThis has happened to me a couple of times – even with a screen name I had deleted from Yahoo and then reregistered about a year later. I know they are actually from the time posted too. It’s like the offlines get stuck in “Yahoo Cyber Space” and eventually make a landing. :crying:
April 13, 2007 at 8:00 am #157338uptonmMemberwell these are people i haven’t talked to in years, and it sent me the same messages every time… i think its something in the registry that stuck around from an old version of yahoo or something

April 13, 2007 at 4:42 pm #157333imported_Ven0mMemberIt’s possible it could be a Yahoo server issue re-sending you old offline messages.
