Hi all
I saw this clever little maths trick, so I thought I would share;)
I have a feeling that this is going to be my next party trick! :p
Clever! Does he explain how it works?
My guess is that the flash of the smiley face at 1:21, forces our brains to deduct his final prediction may have something to do with the smiley face, or the immediately surrounding squares, so within our first three rounds of moving, we try to avoid moving near the smiley face, in our attempts to out-smart him.
While we may choose to move over the smiley face, we assume that all moves will be moves of 7 based on the first three rounds of moving, so also assume moving over the smiley face is alright, as long as we don’t land on it in the final move. We however, learn, that 7 isn’t a set number, and we may accidentally get left on or near the smiley face at some point.
These two facts, in conjunction with the fact that he probably calculated the possible combinations of moves from symbols presumably not close to the smiley face, forces us to have to chose the smiley face in the end.
But that’s just my prediction. 😉
Nifty video. 🙂
Kewl! Really kewl! Dunno what else to say . . . I’ve got a smile on my face tho. Kewl!
