Okay, did anyone actually get all of the ring?? please explain it to me. I didnt really get it at all
May 7, 2004 at 2:59 pm #79961Penguin HunterMemberThere is no need to explain, it’s cr*p, it’s the worst film I’ve ever seen, you really shouldn’t worry yourself about it, it’s not worth the effort, it was a waste of over 2 hours of my life.
I HATE THAT FILM SO MUCH!!!!!
May 7, 2004 at 3:53 pm #79952tangledlisaMemberColin – go to this website and read the American Remake “Timeline”. If you understand the story behind the tape then you can put everything else into place.
I thought the movie was really good. I had read a book awhile back based on the story of Samara so I understood it pretty well the first time I watched.
May 7, 2004 at 6:19 pm #79956Red DevilMemberI thought it was pretty good. At least it was a horror film with some originality to it and not another pointless film which goes like this. serial killer kills people and at the end they find out its the main character’s Boyfriend/Girlfriend/Mum/Dad/pet monkey (delete as appropriate)
Another thing that scared me was that my friend’s phone went off at exactly the same time the phone rang in the film to say “Seven days”. Freaky…
May 7, 2004 at 9:31 pm #79959colinMemberlike a while after we saw the movie, I dunno if it was exactly 7 days after, we were talkin about it and sayin how weird it would be if someone called, so of course my stupid dad had to call the house on his cell. it scared us so bad

Yeah that was pretty funny when his phone rang, I was sat next to him and nearly cr*ped myself (Fugitively speaking). But I still thought it was a lame film
May 8, 2004 at 3:53 pm #79951Jeff HesterKeymasterThe Ring was a remake of the 1998 Japanese film Ringu. I watched Ringu first, and found it to be a much better film. Both movies follow nearly identical storylines for most of the movie, but I didn’t like the changes made in the U.S. version.
Ringu had me on the edge of my seat.
Apparently, there was a Ringu 2 made, and there will also be a Ring 2. I’ll probably watch Ringu 2 first.
By the way, you might have a hard time finding a foreign film like Ringu at your local Blockbuster. Just one of the many reasons I love Netflix. 😎
May 8, 2004 at 5:25 pm #79955Red DevilMemberThere is a ringu 2 as I saw it in HMV once. I considered buying it but it was about £25! Oh well, ill just have to watch the re-make when it comes out.
May 10, 2004 at 4:21 pm #79962El DiabloMemberThe Ring, hmmp… well the ring is like the writer’s head. If you look through the hole, you see nothing. Hell I don’t know… Sorry I tried.

Have you actually seen the Ring, or are you just spamming? Just because a topic is there, doesnt mean you have to post in it.
Anyway, I might have to find these other ring sequels. Before I went on Browneye’s link, I though there were only 2 films, but apparently theres about 5 and some tv series aswell.

December 3, 2004 at 6:28 am #79968cuteb0mberchickMemberi thought The Ring was good and scary but it turn out this was the worst movie I ever saw
-Has no good ending
-no happy ending( her ex-husband should live not died)
-not scary
-confuses me the part when” before you die you saw the ring” whats the point? it could be before you die you freak out because of the green girl walking out the tv and kill you.
-whoever made this movie is an idiot-December 3, 2004 at 6:35 am #79964gossipingraeMemberi liked it…i saw it on campus a few weeks before it came on video, like what, 2 years ago?? lol. it was good, I thoght it was scary when the chick came outta the tv! oohh. but then again, you’re talking to the girl who got scared watching the blair witch project.
don’t get me wrong, I really love scary movies and I don’t get very scared often, but I dunno, some things are just eerie, you know?
hey jeff…is netflix the commercial they advertise on tv? where you pay like $25 a month or so, and they send you certain DVDs on your list…then keep ’em as long as you like…then mail them back?
December 3, 2004 at 3:30 pm #79965princeGParticipantI really liked this movie. When I first watched it at the cinema it scared me, probably cause of the special effects that make the difference comparing to watching it on your tv. This movie is really smart, it gives you clues throughout the film and u have to connect them and realise what they mean, it doesnt reveal many things clearly, but I think thats the best part.
I have watched all of the three Japanese films and I’ve become a fan. Comparing to the Ring, I have to say that the scene where the girl crawls out of the tv is much scarier, and the whole thing really keeps you at the edge of your seat as Jeff said. I’ve also seen Ringu 2 and I think it wasnt that good. I think they overreacted there, too much superficial. However, Ringu 0, the prequel, is fantastic. It tells u the whole story about Samara (Sadako there) and how this whole thing began. It’s amazing. Japanese guys know how to make a good horror film, even without the special effects Holywood uses.
And Ring, Ringu even, does make the difference comparing to the usual ghost stories.
And to cutebomberchicks question why u have to see the ring before u die, it’s because when Samara’s mother threw Samara into that well, the lid that closed it formed a ring, a circle of light into the dark. That was the last thing she saw before she died, so thats the last thing u have to see also before u die. BoooDecember 3, 2004 at 6:40 pm #79950Jeff HesterKeymasterI haven’t seen it but I’m always up for a good fright, even if it is a lame cheap attempt. I haven’t been able to rent it though. My roommate is always here and he’s such a scaredycat.
