MemberHey,
Sorry if this is considered spam but this is a really good service for tracking links in your instant messenger profile. It’s honestly better than any of the other ones out there. It has tons more features than similar services. Every use who clicks on a link in your profile is plotted on a map and you can click from user to user to view information from them. All of this information is protected with a log in as well. Tons more features in the demo on the site. Email address isn’t even required to sign up!

Participantw0rd is b0nd – welcome to BBB! as for ‘thelinktrack’, if you’d visited the website you may have seen the following:
Quote:Sign UpLinkTrack is completely free so give it a try and signup.
but of course this is like any other profile tracker in that it requires people to click a link in your profile. which not everyone does, and not everyone is willing to do. and since there seems to be no real way to track viewers otherwise…
although, i’ve still never really seen the point. so what if someone checks your profile?

MemberI have also created an AIM Profile View Tracker which tracks who views your AIM Profile. You can register for it by going it http://www.trackmyprofile.com

Keymasterwouldn’t it be nice if your released this whole script to the public. that way no one person could figure out that they are clicking on a “link-spy” url or w.e. there would be hundreds of people running their own AIM Profile Tracker (and no central database of all of them). Whee!

Whee!I had this sitting on my webserver, it’s written in ASP (3.0), it’ll do what you want.
Code:<%
dim path, adminpass, redir, ip, f, fs'######################### CONFIG ###########
path = server.mappath("CLICKLOG.txt") & ""
' Path to log file, can be full path (c:inetpubwwwrootlogslog.txt), or can use server.mappath()
adminpass = "passwdx"
' Admini password, to see who clicked the link via the web.
ReDir = "http://www.msn.com/"
' Where should the user go after they are logged?
useSessions = "1"
' set to "1" to use sessions to prevent the user from clicking again and again to fill your logfile.IP = request.servervariables("REMOTE_ADDR")
if request.querystring("admin")=adminpass then
Set fs=Server.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
Set f=fs.OpenTextFile(path, 1)
Response.Write("" & replace(f.ReadAll,"%20"," ") & "
“)
f.Close
response.end
else
if session(“USR”) “1” then
set fs=Server.CreateObject(“Scripting.FileSystemObject”)
set f=fs.OpenTextFile(path,8,true)
f.write(vbnewline & now())
f.write(vbnewline & “IP: ” & IP)
f.write(vbnewline & “QueryString: ” & request.querystring)
f.write(vbnewline & “—————————“)
f.close
if useSessions = “1” then
session(“USR”)=”1″
end if
end if
end ifSet f=Nothing
Set fs=Nothing
response.redirect(redir)
%>Save it on an ASP-enabled webserver (Windows/IIS) as whatever you like.
Then paste the link in your profile:
Link text
The script will log the entire querystring, so you can hide it in other things if you want.http://mywebhost.com/page.asp?orderID=83782028338a6f3e4%n34df&styleid=4
And for you to access the text file remotely, you use http://mywebhost.com/page.asp?admin=

ParticipantHere is the PHP version:
Code:<?php
$file = "CLICKLOG.txt";
// Path to log file.
$adminpass = "passwdx";
// Admin password
$redir = "http://www.msn.com/";
// Where to direct the user.if(isset($_GET['admin']) && $_GET['admin']==$adminpass)
{
$f = fopen($file, "r");
$contents = fread($f, filesize($file));
fclose($f);
print '' . str_replace("%20"," ",$contents) . '‘;
} else {
$txt = “n” . date(“D M j G:i:s T Y”) . “n”;
$txt = $txt . “IP: “. GetHostByName($_SERVER[‘REMOTE_ADDR’]) . “/” . $_SERVER[‘REMOTE_ADDR’] . “n”;
$txt = $txt . “QueryString: ” . $_SERVER[‘QUERY_STRING’] . “n”;
$txt = $txt . “—————————n”;$f = fopen($file, ‘a’);
fwrite($f, $txt);
fclose($f);
