Memberguys i figured out what happened to my aim screen name. there was that weird lockout of accounts. well aim reset my email to an old email address that i used in 1998 when registering my aim account. it completely ignored the new email i associated my account with even though i changed it like 4 diff times since then.
i am emailing aim about this. when they did a restore it messed up my account that way.

ParticipantAnd you know about this how? I doubt that there was any catastrophic database failure, since my screen name, and thousands of others are working fine.

Memberbecause i was able to run an email scan to findout what email address it was registerred to. the account suddenly crashed at 12/04/04 at 8:45 pm. this is alsot he time people were getting lockout messages as it states on the aim website under technical issues on 12/10/04 appologizing for the problem of the suspended accounts. i had changed and confirmed the email address changes a dozen times before. i was able to findout that this account was changed to that old email address. this confirms my suspicion of the crash. and it discredits the scape goat of “your account was hacked” the account wasnt hacked.

ParticipantIt would have been intelligent if you had mentioned somewhere that this all happened back in December. Please state these things in the future, thanks.

Memberi did mention it happened in december. i thought i mentioned it but you locked the topics.
the main problem is going to be to get AIM to put it back to normal because it reset my pw to somehting i never used before and to an email i no longer have access to from almost 7 yrs ago, (a college email address). i have since contacted the university to try to gain access for 5 minutes at the most.

MemberI think there were so many topics that you started it was hard to keep track of everything. It is not that out of this world to think that some one might have hacked your account….it happens every day.
