I really don’t understand this!!!
Messenger Beta 7.0.425, applied Daniel’s cosmetic patch. Tabs DO NOT disappear. Everything else is gone, Search, BETA tag, MSN Today button…
Added “DisableTabs” DWORD (value=1) to all number registry folders of PerPassport Settings in Current User…… etc registry branch.
Nope, tabs are still there.
On the PC next to me, they’re gone (same XP, same SP2). On my old laptop, as well. On a new machine – they are still there!
So I exported registry entries from a machine where tabs are gone and imported them here. Nothing. I copied all files from MSN Messenger folder from the machine with no tabs to this new one, nothing!!!
So now on this new machine I have all the files in MSN Messenger folder copied from the other machine, and imported those registry setttings too. What else in the world can I try?
?!? I know it’s a tiny thing, but it’s sooo annoying!
The DisableTabs value goes in the MSNMessenger section, not the passport settings.
Oh, right! Thanks! Man, I was sure it was to go to all numbered PerPassportSettings… must be getting old.
