When I try to receive programs from another calculator, I always get the same message. “error in Xmit” I checked the manual and none of the suggestions that they said applied to me. Can someone please tell me whats wrong? thanks in advance!you can only transfer games/programs from one calculator to another if they’re the same model number, OR if the one sending is a lower model number than the one receiving… so if you’re using a TI83+ and try to get a program from a TI89, it’ll give you that error… otherwise the cable isnt plugged in right, or you’re not doing the transmit procedure properly… if its not one of those, then it’s probably just a glitch with your calculator
and yeah, I had a LOT of games on my calculator at one time… most of them written by me or by friends. you think I was actually going to pay attention in calculus back in high school???

I know all of that. I was trying to transfer games from one TI-83 Plus to another one. Today I took my calculator apart, and I think I know what the problem is. Thanks everybody.

ParticipantIF your current calc has internal problems I would upgrade to a TI-85…it is only $99 when you can find it with a mail in rebate. Check out ebay..but only for a new/unused one…I wouldn’t trust a used one. The TI-85 is a huge step up in programs, but not in price 😉 It can handle more memory and if you are a math major…you are set for life…I have one and it is by far the best calculator I have ever had.

MemberIt does sound like a connection problem I was give a TI-83 that the female connector was broken inside so I took the link cable and cut it in half added 3 feet and hard wired it in to the calculator. I just used to use it to back up my basic programs from my Ti-83 Plus before I got a computer in July of 2003 before that I hand a had a 486 running at 33Mhz with Windows 3.1. I also made a long calc to calc link cable so in math class my friend and I could play Bomber man form desk to desk. My math teacher gave me extra credit for every math program I wrote but when we had a student teacher for part of the year he banned graphing calculator from test because of my programs.
