This may only be an issue for those of us that use BBB daily or nearly daily, but I find I am getting tired of the current theme. Occasionally, the sites that I often use revamp their look (i.e. Yahoo!, Facebook, Bank of America), and when this happens, it is VERY refreshing as I have been looking at the same theme for a while.
Now, I know that these other sites have much larger budgets, and I don’t know how much time and money it costs to implement such a theme change, but I thought I’d mention it in case it’s at all feasible 🙂
May 23, 2008 at 2:56 pm #169746DavidParticipantOh man, now that’s a touchy subject.
I don’t disagree though, v4 will be great when it lands.
May 23, 2008 at 3:23 pm #169753sarahtownyMemberohhh *cough cough* he said it, he said it!! haha
But I have to agree would love to spice the ole place up a bit more, now lighting is going to strike me as I walk outside :0)
May 23, 2008 at 4:12 pm #169760PhilipModeratorSarah, lightning is gonna strike me too, because I agree 100% with Wolverine, I wish there were some $#!@ way for us staff and members to customize the BBB theme.
Wolverine, reps up (definitely) for you, and…I uh, KA-BOOM!
May 23, 2008 at 6:18 pm #169742GandalfMemberI agree also! Let’s make it happen?!

Sorry I’m a noob at this, but was browsing through the features in the link above.

I completely agree — BBB is due for an updated look. It’s something we are working on. Let me know if you want to see some screenshots.

Actually Philip, this feature has been in vBulletin since we switched to vBulletin several years ago. It’s been turned “off” because we don’t have suitable alternate themes developed.
For BBB v4, I will be looking at the ability to create a couple of user-selectable themes, but it is a time-consuming job to develop and test them. When we initially launch, we may have one or two. Are there any specific “themes” would you like to see?

Maybe some variations on a blue theme, since we are Big Blue Ball after all, correct? Admittedly, WordPress has spoiled me because I can change my blog theme at the drop of a hat. However, as you’ve mentioned, it’s a time-consuming process in vBulletin.
People can have the Model T in any colour–so long as it’s black. Henry Ford (in our case substitute blue for black)
May 26, 2008 at 5:28 pm #169736Jeff HesterKeymasterWhat kind of variations are you thinking of? Different shades of blue, or ???

Thank you. I know it’s very time-consuming for you, and I do appreciate it.

June 5, 2008 at 10:06 pm #169748KudoParticipantGood that I saw this thread. 🙂
My only request is a button at the top to see all new post since the last time I was here (log in)
The Today’s post and post with no replies does not do that for me and I always use a new post button in all my other forums.June 6, 2008 at 1:15 am #169737Jeff HesterKeymasterKudo;230453 wrote:Good that I saw this thread. 🙂My only request is a button at the top to see all new post since the last time I was here (log in)
