I received some spam mail today which claimed the following:
This managed to peak my curiosity enough to actually see what was up. Upon visiting the website and reading there FAQ’s, I discover that they are claiming to sell OEM versions of software. Which means its just an installation CD with no fancy box or manuals. It still seemed a little too good to be true for me. So I did some checkin for other OEM distributers and there pricing doesn’t even come close in comparison ($185 for XP Pro OEM & $545 for Photoshop 7 OEM).
I smell a big scam. Now the question is – Is it simply illegal software distribution or will you just get plain old ripped off….Opinions?

Well. I’d just like to say that I got Windows XP Professional v2002 SP1 for $60 through Microsoft (Some program that my brother did so he gets insane prices on stuff)
But, I’m very sure this is a scam, I went to the link… “Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition
$60″SCAM!!! That’s $2,000+ software!

That’s my opinion. Yea, definite scam, no more thinking needed.August 24, 2003 at 10:00 am #56594rustedtightMemberThat site is registered in Sao Paulo Brazil, a long way to travel if you seek personal service huh.
