I want to transfer all my contacts from an old AIM screenname to a new one, but I don’t want to do it all one by one, which is the only way I can find right now. Is there an easier way to copy them all without having to download AIM again? Thanks.
With Trillian, you can just add another AIM connection for the new account and keep all your existing contacts. Of course, your contacts may not have your new screen name in their own buddy list, which could be a problem for you if they have their privacy settings configured to block people not on their own list.
There used to be an option in AIM to export your buddy list to an ASCII text file, which could then be imported to AIM… but in the latest version, AIM Triton, they’ve removed that functionality.
