I have added a buddy icon to trillian. Verified by looking in preferences—buddy icon. How do I send the buddy icon to an AIM user ? I tried sending an IM to another trillian user on my network using aim but no buddy icon is displayed. I can see buddy icons from AOL users. Is it that trillian Buddy icons can only be viewed by true AOL users ? What am I missing here ? Exact instructions appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

You don’t see your own buddy icon; it shows up for other AIM users, or Trillian users when you connect to them via the AIM network.
So it sounds like its working perfectly. 😉

Try sending a couple messages to yourself (yes it’s weird), after about 2 messages your icon should appear or else you set-up something improperly.

I’m a Trillian user, simultaneously logged into AIM, MSN, ICQ and Yahoo. If you IM me on my MSN account, I won’t see your buddy icon. You must contact me via my AIM account for Trillian to show me your buddy icon.
And as Windaphoner pointed out, it usually takes a couple of exchanges before the icon shows up.
