Now that the #2 and #3 IM’s have joined to make the largest IM, will Trillian support this interoperability?
I don’t think it would, only because with the new Interoperability, you need to download a newer version of the messenger. So it has some stuff in it I doubt Trillian does. But if you could test it for us that would be grand!
I’m sure they will fix the problem when the next release of Trillian comes out (Trillian Astra). Also, if you read in the news article, there isn’t full compatability yet, only text.

So the big news lately is that Microsoft and Yahoo! have linked their IM networks together to offer true server-side interoperability! We’re very excited about this, as we’ve always been big supporters of interoperability in any form. We believe that the end user should ultimately select his or her favorite client and not have to worry about who is chatting where, and this is a great step in that direction. Congratulations to the Windows Live and Yahoo! teams for taking a very encouraging first step.
We are working on ensuring that Trillian users can take advantage of this new functionality ASAP; it will involve upgrading Trillian to speak a newer version of both the Y! and MSN protocols, which is not a minor undertaking by any means, but we’re looking forward to the challenge. Back to work…
