What does everyone think of trillian I mean I think it is great for people who actually use aim msn yahoo icq and others but I really don’t understand why I should get I just think icq and aim are by far the biggest ones out there!
June 23, 2003 at 8:25 am #60923DJHyperbyteMemberYou’ll find that the official clients for MSN, AIM, ICQ and Yahoo have far more features than Trillian does. Still, a lot of those features I personally don’t want. I also don’t like to have four programs open, while Trillian can just do basically the same with just one instance.
And… running MSN, AIM, ICQ and YIM on a 266mhz computer isn’t really fun either. 😉
June 23, 2003 at 11:22 am #60925BrianMemberTrillian Pro and Trillian .74 are good, but I don’t use the clients very often. I would say after version 3, Trillian probably would be worth to buy and use. They probably would be left with just three (IRC, Yahoo and maybe Jabber) to connect while Microsoft and AOL-Time Warner work as a team to make MSN Messenger and AOL/ICQ to be interoperability together.. I personally would recommend against the purchase of Trillian Pro until we hear something about Microsoft and AOL-Time Warner. 😉
June 24, 2003 at 12:10 am #60929melloyelloMemberI dont really like Trillian. The skins suck and the features that MSN, AIM, ICQ, YIM etc. are not included. I only use it because I need both MSN and AIM, and occasionally YIM.
June 24, 2003 at 3:33 am #60920Jeff HesterKeymasterTrillian is the best!!!!
Its what I use the most. If you use a lot of different messangers its sooooo easy to use. And not as many screens!
June 24, 2003 at 4:05 am #60927LittleBuddy99MemberI dont use trillian alot. Mostly i use AIM. Its pretty easy and i herd they r getting this thing to talk to ICQ
June 24, 2003 at 5:38 am #60921detn8rParticipantI personally only like Trillian because its the second best interoperability IM client in the world. (Gaim ranking number one in my book)
If you use all four IM clients, and dont use all the features, than sure Trillian is for you. But personally, I only like using Trillian because it packs down ICQ and AIM. ICQ is just freaking huge, and now MSN is aswell.
I’ll keep YM, and MSN as their own clients until Trillian gets the features they currently withhold if ever, but unless that happens, Im happy the way I am.Oh and DJHB,
try running them all on 167mhz (32mb ram) [:P]June 25, 2003 at 1:54 am #60928ocpaintballer86MemberI think I will stick with aim for now cause that is where all my pimps and hoes are lol not really but thanks a lot guys this is a great site and I suggest everyone get a new computer sounds like yall are putting to much im stuff on your oldy computers;)
July 7, 2003 at 6:35 pm #60931megabitchMemberit has so many annoying bugs and missing features that I use aim or like I said before I started to play with gaim
July 7, 2003 at 7:58 pm #60932squareringMemberNO.
it really sux!! i used to use trillian pro and it bites
July 7, 2003 at 8:17 pm #60924BrianMember… squarering, why don’t you share with us why you say Trillian Pro suck? I am sure some of us here would like to know why…
July 8, 2003 at 5:04 am #60926ChimmeraMemberI for one, happen to think that Trillian is not too bad at all.
I’ve been using it for well over 2 years now and it does everything I want it to. I do actually use all 4 mesenger clients. The IRC thing still throws me a bit, but I’ve never been into IRC anyway, so I really don’t care about it.I used to use ICQ only before I got my hands on Trillian. Anyone who wanted to chat on other protocls had to either change to ICQ, or do it all through e-mail. Not anymore! 🙂
I fully plan on going out and buying the full version once it has the features I want implemented. I do have a minor problem sending files, but I’m working on that. I think it has more to do with my network than Trillian….
So rock on Cerulean Studios! Keep up the good work!
July 9, 2003 at 12:54 am #60933RadioheadMemberi don’t use trillian, only because half of the clients won’t connect. *shrug* that and i’m not exactly popular, so just aim is fine for me. 🙂
July 11, 2003 at 8:41 am #60930ZxnMemberI use trillian…
-saves on resources. Dont have to run AOLIM, Yahoo!IM, ICQ, MSN Messenger, and Windows Messenger all at once
-i do not have to see “:mad:wonderful:mad:” advertisments.
-Skins are nice
-Transperancy is just cool
-it does emoticons… has some icons of its own (like when you type “trillian” or “winamp”…everytime a service updates, the Trillian crew has to change things though so keeping up is a challange and sometimes I go a day or 2 without a specific IM working. Like Yahoo!IM: you have remove your name and readd it with no capital letters to get it to work… others just gotta make sure you have d patch installed.
Never could get IRC to work though
-zxn
July 20, 2003 at 3:41 pm #60922hurricanefloydnyMemberI personally love it.. Sure Trillian doesnt have everything that the other programs have but most of it I really wouldnt want anyways. If it weren’t for Trillian I would probably never use Yahoo or MSN but since I do have it I can use them all.
