ParticipantWhile trying to figure out how to enable logging in the new Triton, I stumbled upon the journal of an AOL employee who is/was working on it. Turns out you can access a big list of hidden settings, where you can enable logging.
from Logging in Triton, Hide on Minimize:Quote:A couple more things to look for in Triton. Triton does have logging capabilities, but the preferences enabling it are hidden and the UI facilitating it are non-existant. The logs are stored in xml format tho, so if anyone wants to make a viewer knock yourself out ^_^How to enable logging:
Go to settings manager (f7)
Type ‘config’ in the search field in the top left corner.
Select the new tab ‘about:Config’
Scroll down to the preference logginglogims
Set that value to 1
You will notice other logging preferences, like logging buddy events. If you want to enable these, set each one to 1 or 0 depending on your preference. Logs are stored in My DocumentsMy AIM Logsfromscreennametoscreennameday.xmlHow to enable hide BL on minimize:
Follow the same steps as in logging, but look for the preference buddylistHideOnMinimize and set to 1Happy Logging!

MemberFor anyone who cares, the new AIM Triton has logging enabled as a public feature.

MemberI have windows xp and i’ve had nothing but problems with triton. It froze on my computer, it gave me signing in problems, i didnt want it loading with windows and no matter what i did it loaded anyway. i didn’t like aol explorer. I like the features that regualr aim offered and triton didn’t. aolsoftware.exe continued to run even after i tried to kill the process. it was like it possessed the computer.

ParticipantAIM Triton is just bad mmmkay? There have been so many problems, I honestly can’t believe they have this out…unless they are making the problems…why do you think aolsoftware.exe keeps running? Could this being software spying on you? Who knows…they do, and much more.

Memberfrom what I’ve heard- Triton was released in a hurry to compete with skype-enabling on yahoo IM. I think that many of the features everyone got used to with earlier versions are planned for Triton- eventually.!

MemberI think they call it “beta” for a reason (and I do consider the public releases to be beta as well).

MemberI have nothing but good things to say about AIM Triton. If you install the Aim Ad Hack Plugin, you should be ready to go. http://aftermath.dyndns.org:8888/~aimadhack/
With these updates, ads are gone and when you hover the curser over a buddy, their information pops up in a window and shows status and away message. Also, like Trillian, you can change names on the buddy list how you like.
