Today when I was scanning my system for virus by Zone Alarm I have found that Yahoo Audio Conferencing contol (yacscom.dll) which is responsible for Voice in yahoo chat declared as trojan by Zone Alarms Scan under high risk.
Now what Should I have to do ? If i delete that .dll file voice will stop working and if not then…………..!!!
Well is this with others also waiting for others reply 🙂
This is a false positive.
You discovered one of the major problems of virus and spam detection sw. Some programs are more aggressive than others and will provide false results – i.e., flagging a benign, required file as being infected. Never delete a file until you verify that it is not a required file. If in doubt, Google the file name.
well my Kaspersky 7 version, detect yahoo messeger sending hidden data , i think its a false positive too. for eg kaspersky detect yahelite is trojan infected
Nod32 is picking up ypager.exe as a trojan too:rolleyes:
False positive. But, you’re using an older version of Yahoo! Messenger, so maybe that’s why? 😛
True. It’s a false alarm. As long as you got your Y!M copy from a reliable (if not from original site) source, then you can be sure its clean. I’ve had an issue with Norton and Y!M before, similar to this one… 😉
