When I install Yahoo Messenger 11, everything seems to work except I cannot make any video and voice calls to anyone on my list. I was able to make calls to almost everyone on my friends list with Messenger 10. This only happens on my Toshiba Satellite laptop. I have a HP desktop and it works fine there. Both use the same wireless router and have the same security settings. I have contacted Yahoo and tired everything they suggested with no success. I do get a message that I am “not connected the network” when I try to make a test call. Also the Video and Voice Icons are gray, and The Start Video Call and Start Voice Call in the drop down under Actions is gray. When I install Messenger 11, right after it starts it seems to be ok for a few seconds, then goes off line and signs me in again not working correctly. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions to fix this problem would be appreciated, and until then I will just keep Messenger 10. Thanks.
Hard to say without looking at your settings and your sound card/chip settings on laptop.
If i was to fathom a guess I’d say either it’s a device setting effecting the calling on the laptop, do other calling applications like Skype work?
Did you run the audio and video setup wizard in Yahoo! Messenger?
