I have the Sims 1 with the Livin Large expansion pack. It has worked fine for months, but now when I go to the create new family window I get problems. I can create a male sim with no problems, but the second I click the button to create a female sim, the whole game crashes. It doesn’t freeze, it just shuts itself off completely. I want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the game – but will this make me lose all my current sims? I also have a bunch of downloaded objects – any ideas on how to keep these from disappearing?
Thanks
Have you gone to the Sims website and checked for updates to the game and the living large expansion pack?
As for your current Sims, I think there is a way of saving them and also yourd downloaded objects. I believe you can find that info in the Sims website as well. I’ll try to get it for you.
I always had problems with my Sims game as well. It didn’t crash, it just froze randomly and so I had to reset the computer. I ended up not playing it at all because it got annoying. It would freeze at a random time and I wouldn’t have saved the game or anything. I don’t know why it did it, maybe because my computer is pretty old. I’m hopefully getting a new computer soon so I’ll try again then.
