MemberIs there a way to Turn off AIM today on AIM mail or remove it? Or not go directly to the AIM today, but just go directly to inbox?

MemberHi
I just downloaded AIM the other day, and so I went to have a look for you (I am good like that;)) , there have been previous posts about this, but on older versions.
As far as I can see, from the options tab there is no way to get rid of it, as there was before.
Could be wrong though, and I am sure if I am wrong another staff member will come and tell us, till then I am afraid we will have to suffer in silence

MemberHmmm… this is very weird. At first, I was going to say that Sarah was wrong. I started to write: “Actually, you can still turn off AIM Today when you start-up AIM, even in the latest version (AIM 6 for Windows).
Go to Edit > Settings > Sign-in / Sign-out and you’ll see a checkbox for AIM Today.”
I even created a screenshot to show the option (see first attachment). Then I went back to check the wording and the option was gone!!! (see second attachment).
So the bottom line is, you used to be able to do it (before AIM 6). It’s possible that they removed it, in which case, you might be able to turn it off by installing an older version. There’s probably another way, too… maybe through the registry.
First, check those instructions I wrote and let me know what YOU see, then if it looks like the second screenshot I attached, I’ll dig a little deeper for an answer. I’m SURE it can be done via a registry hack, if nothing else.

MemberOk, I swear to you I’m not crazy. Now I’m looking at the two screenshots and they are identical. Well, maybe I AM crazy. Anyhow… check those settings. If you don’t see something to turn off AIM Today, let me know and I’ll find another solution. :p

ParticipantI assume you would like aim.mail.com to take you directly to your inbox after you sign in (like Yahoo! Mail lets you). Unfortunately, I don’t see this setting 🙁 As another option, I highly recommend Gmail. The conversation grouping feature is extremely useful.
